According to The New York Times, the iPhone 5 is weeks away from being announced. The report, which was taken seriously by the markets, also brightens up white iPhone 5 release date scenarios. As is typical, what is rumored to be Apple’s game plan for the upcoming release has leaked well in advance of it. Apple has been mum, as is its practice, about the new iPhone’s name — most have dubbed it the “iPhone 5″ — and any changes from 2010′s iPhone 4. Beatweek also claimed in November 2011 that the 5-inch was scrapped “because Apple wouldn’t be able to do it properly” this year. There were reports that the sales were disappointing, and Apple suppliers saw orders for the Verizon phone cut back by as much as half.
